South America Business Awards 2020
South America Business Awards 2020 | 11 Nov20054 Representing the spirit of family and the tradition of the Chilean wine industry from their origins, Bodegas Tagua Tagua (BTT) embodies the perseverance of the people who have managed to overcome this crazy geography, and the fierceness of their climatic events. Not only this, but they have also allowed BTT to achieve a product of global excellence. BTT wines are the result of this remarkable adventure, which also reflects the family tradition through five generations. We took a closer look at BTT to discover more about the wine it produces and how it earned the title Winery of the Year - Cachapoal Province in New World Report’s South America Business Awards. Winery of the Year - Cachapoal Province n a mission to fulfil a sustainability role in social terms with the families of company’s workers and their community, BTT has a strong preservation regarding everything related to the natural and wild environment, through the use of agricultural practices and winemaking that go in harmony with the natural life. Internally, BTT is a team formed by group of people who each fulfils their part of the workload with pleasure and professionalism. Collectively, the team strive to achieve the best results possible. Since their inception, BTT crosses and adapts their sales strategies to how they can use more eco raw materials in the bottles, boxes and corks of their wines. As such, the team are pushing in all of the business chains to adapt to more sustainable business ways, incorporating new types of packing, which includes cans, Tetrapak, bag in box and specially Eco Bottles. Regardless of what industry we operate in, COVID had an impact on every sector across the globe. From causing the closure for business temporarily or permanently, to working from home becoming the new lifestyle for many. Whilst it has had a negative affect for many, COVID also provided a number of businesses lessons on new ways to deliver their service. What the team at BTT learned from the pandemic is that as suppliers, they are more than key for any of their existing partners in the world, and have learned that they are now more connected to the rest of the world than ever before. In a similar way to their success in the destination markets, BTT customers have also had a very good performance this past year. For instance, the business has expanded their distribution from 30 markets to 35 during the past year. The pandemic was a completely new opportunity for their wines, most of their loyal customers have since expanded and adapted their business to OFF trade or online (B2C) business as well. Overall, the lessons the team at BTT have learned from this pandemic is that they must be loyal and create stronger connections with all of their consumers and customers – especially when they are suffering in an economics or financial way. This has been a real key factor in their growth in 2020. Looking ahead to what the future holds, BTT is on track to become one of the most sustainable and fast-growing companies for at least the following three-five years. For now, some of their upcoming projects included designing new innovative products like Wine in Cans, Tetrapak, and other packaging for wine which is not the normal from the industry. Ultimately, the future looks bright for New World Report’s Winery of the Year - Cachapoal Province. Company: Bodegas Tagua Tagua Contact: Alejandro Garrido Email:
