Dunwood Hall Estate Most Elegant Wedding Venue - Staffordshire Mar22109 Built between 1870 and 1871, the Dunwood Hall Estate was designed to be a lavish family home completed in the popular Gothic Revival style of the era. Fitted with sweeping arches, stained glass windows, and a tower with four gargoyles, the estate serves up a unique kind of historical glamour. Over the years, the state fell into disrepair – until it was rescued by Dr. Ruth Vincent Kemp, the grandmother and grandmother-in-law of the current owners, Broderik and Erika Kemp-Lovatt. In 2022, decades after its creation and subsequent resuscitation, Dunwood Hall remains a luxurious family home. However, for a few days a year, it opens its doors to the lucky couples who get to utilise the space as a wedding venue. Indeed, the ornate Grade II listed building is a fascinatingly beautiful backdrop for both elegant and creative weddings and receptions. From three-day extravaganzas to intimate evening meals, Dunwood Hall is equipped to deal with weddings of up to 90 guests for a ceremony and wedding breakfast, and 120 for an evening celebration. The site, inspired by French and Italian Rivieras, boasts old-world architecture, secluded gardens with beautifully manicured lawns, rose gardens, and a 1920s swimming pool, each of which can be easily accessed by guests. Five rooms – the Grand Hall, Victorian Dining Room, Music Room, Drawing Room, and Orangery – are available to guests, providing a large space for events, featuring bustling areas and quiet getaways. Whether guests choose to marry in the bright and open Orangery or the intimate Music Room, Dunwood Hall hopes to craft a day focused upon the guests wants and dreams. It encourages guests to voice their ideas – be it Pinterest inspiration or something the guest came up with themselves. All that it asks is that guests disclose their ideas beforehand and respect the fact that the site is an active family home that must remain looked after. In turn, Erika and Broderik are enthusiastic about meeting their guest’s expectations – they keep the grounds well-maintained and enlist the help of highly-skilled caterers who can deliver a bespoke menu. Furthermore, the bar onsite remains stocked, offering a range of champagnes, wines, beers, and branded spirits from which the guests will be able to choose. Simply, Dunwood Hall isn’t interested in building a production line of clients, ‘where one couple walks out of the revolving door as another enters.’ Instead, it wants to take its time with each couple, designing a magnificent day to remember. It complimented our style superbly and really gave the retro/ vintage feel that we wanted. […] The gardens are beautiful, again with numerous little pockets of gorgeousness which were perfect for photos. It is definitely a venue with the wow factor whilst keeping its composure and charm for a bespoke and truly magical day. We would absolutely recommend!’ In addition to its wedding services, the manor house is open for hire for a plethora of events and photoshoots. For example, it offers a ‘Country House Takeover,’ stemming from a Friday evening to a Sunday evening. Whether guests are planning for a 1920s themed party, or a relaxing escape to the serene estate, the Kemp-Lovatt family are happy to open their home in order to share the mystique of Dunwood Hall. Henceforth, throughout 2022, Dunwood Hall will be enacting numerous plans, including the introduction of bespoke, long-weekend hire option for wedding celebrations that includes accommodation. In addition, there are plans to introduce a pop-up cinema screen as part of the 48-hour hire package, which will allow guests to choose where and how they kick back and enjoy a film.
