First, it must become Strong. Catherine Sedgewick observed that, “wealth… is the great levelling factor.” But, Cincom must also be just. In briefest definition, if Cincom was to become a Good company, it must become Strong and be Just. Cincom believed, along with Sallust, that, “The glory that goes with wealth and beauty is fleeting and fragile; virtue is a possession glorious and eternal.” Cincom believed, as did George Chapman, that, “They are only great who are truly good.” That’s why Goodness was always determined to be an absolute necessity for Cincom.
